First ever black hole photo fake

CLAP. CLAP. CLAP.  And science moves on.

Every galaxy, as we are told by theoreticians, has a super-massive black hole at its center which is the glue that holds all the parts together.  As a skeptic of most things theoretical, I can still see the logic in runaway accretion’s eventual collapse under it’s own weight.

Black holes are exceedingly logical.

Visual proof, however, is hard to come by:  intervening stars and dust obscure the theorized black hole.   But, even if the galactic rubble were not there, the hole, as described by physicists, is invisible anyway.  It emits no evidence of its existence.  Emissions from the theorized event horizon (X-rays and infra-red) can be recorded since they pass through the surrounding dust.  The hole itself remains both inscrutable and invisible.

At a distance of 25,000 light years, I doubt that any of Man’s space traveling cameras have gotten behind the intervening dust and stars to get a bona fide, REAL photo of what cannot be seen or photographed.  The only options are to physically move the interveining stars and dust out of the way BEFORE taking the shot… or scientifically PHOTO SHOPPING the real photo of what can’t be photographed.

  1. Science’s solution? Fake it!  Since the public is awed by science-speak, just make a digital ERASER (call it an algorithm*) and edit out all the dust and star pixels that just get in the way of a REAL picture.  Substitute the unambiguous color BLACK** for the color pixels you swept away.

Voila!  The scientist’s concept was indeed validated in an authentic photo-shopped photo of a REAL black hole.  Lest you misunderstand, not just a black hole photo, mind you, but the world’s FIRST authentic PHOTO-SHOPPED image of an unseen, unseeable, and still-unphotographed black hole.

CGI is very up and coming these days, so your new CGI concept should catch on and be worshipped at the altar of science for a while… at least until some other catchy notion gets the spotlight.

Look, Smart Dudes of Science, we social herd members are gullible, but even though you use MATH to create an image, all you have when you’re done is STILL an artist’s concept.  Period.

But, for now, like the authenticators of the Piltdown skull fraud, you have once again out-done yourselves in self-authentication.

You call yourselves “scientists”  but… like the rest of us… you’re only human, and, humans require self-validation to endure this existence.  But… really?

…Trillions and trillions of dollars in telescopes, infrared detectors, radar trackers, worldwide dish arrays, x-ray and radio signal dectectors, etcetera, yet…

you grab at PHOTO-SHOPPING?
